Flóra Kőszeghy
Architect, visual artist and curator
Flóra Kőszeghy is an architect, visual artist, curator and the founder of Budapest-based Studio Kőszeghy. She earned her degree in architecture at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and her doctorate (DLA) at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Her creative practice and research explore the connections between architecture, art and theory, continually questioning disciplinary boundaries.
Through paintings, installations, digital images and architectural projects, she investigates how technology shapes human perception, our experience of space and our relationship with the world. As a curator of EDGE Fest and Hyperion Meetup in Debrecen, she brings together practitioners and theorists from different fields. In Unconclusion, the online magazine she founded, she experiments with critical thinking, humour and fiction, creating space for questions that extend beyond familiar conceptual frameworks.
In her talk Who’s Designing Whom?, she will explore what happens when architecture meets art, theatre or literature. Can a stage set change the way we think about buildings—and the lives within them? What happens when a machine’s mistakes become an artist’s gestures? Can fiction make our most reasonable assumptions look absurd? And where does architecture actually end? Who gets to decide? Through examples from her own practice, she will explore how we shape our work—and how it shapes us in return.
“Predictable plans are very boring. Depending on where I turn, I encounter different influences. It is the crossroads that make the creative process exciting.”
