Workshop about the future

Are you 13-19 years old and interested in how to get involved in the creation of the cities we live in? We invite you to a full-day creative workshop inspired by a 1966 BBC interview in which children imagine the year 2000.

Together, we will share the experiences of children’s creative workshop lecturers with architects and urban planners (about the functioning of the city), biodesigners (about the concept of nature) and technological experts (about the use of artificial intelligence). From the perspective of social sciences, we will explain the possibilities of participation of the young generation in solving problems and creating their neighborhoods and cities.

We will present the new Spatial Plan of the City of Košice and try to imagine the year 2100 in the relationships between me and my immediate surroundings – family and friends, the city district, the city of Košice, eastern Slovakia and Slovakia, Europe and the planet. Based on specific assignments, we will design the Košice of the future, its architecture, urban planning, infrastructure, nature, etc. The ambition is to understand how the city works and how we can actively contribute to its future. Also to prepare for the future of those to whom it is intended – the young generation.

You do not need any technical or theoretical skills, just curiosity about how the city works and its creation. You can come alone, or accompanied by parents or siblings. The workshop will last until 16:00, lunch is provided.
